Why We’re In Love With Collaborative Working Spaces

Whether you are a freelancer or you work remotely for your company, collaborative workspaces are a great way to get the creative juices flowing and make sure you don’t get cabin fever in your own home. The need for coworking spaces is growing rapidly worldwide. GCUC and Small Business labs predict that:

  • The number of global coworking spaces will grow from 14,411 to just over 30,000 in 2022;

  • The number of coworking members will grow from 1.74 million to 5.1 million in 2022 at an average annual growth rate of 24.2%.

Collaborative Marketing recently toured WeWork in Brisbane and discovered some of the amazing benefits of co-working spaces first hand. With amenities like IT support, private phone booths, barista made coffee and after work knock-offs on tap (just to name a few), we were interested to discover how co-working spaces could be both cost effective and meaningful for a community like Brisbane.

Whether intentionally or not, many of today’s workplaces value individuals over groups - this is evident in the way most companies are structured. Startups and departments commonly practice ranking employees and awarding individual talent, which inadvertently forces employees to compete amongst each other. The result is a workplace that cannibalises itself instead of moving towards a collective goal (hello, office politics).

So - working alongside people from different fields and different backgrounds can bring a lot of fresh perspective to your work. Many times, your co-workers can look at the problems and challenges you face and tackle it from another, unexpected angle. Likewise, you can bring a fresh perspective to the work of others as well. A collaborative workspace that allows for the sharing of ideas that will ultimately benefit the entire company. After all, the whole can always be greater than the sum of its parts.

At Collaborative Marketing, much as our name suggests, we believe in the power of Collaborative working spaces. Sharing our space with powerhouse sheamorrison.com, organisational superstars CollabBoards, sustainable superheroes Society Tote and sleep saviours The Goodnight Co. has allowed us to experience the amazing benefits of co-working first hand. Being surrounded by other hardworking professionals like you can also give you that extra boost of motivation - not to mention the incredible sense of community.

We understand the diversity of businesses first hand, and we’d love to get to know yours. Drop a line to shea@collaborativemarketing.com.au to find out how we can take your brand and business from cold to compelling.
